Set within the rugged wilderness of Jawai, Rajasthan, this 8.5-acre hospitality project was envisioned as a landscape shaped by terrain, ecology, and movement. Designed carefully around the site’s existing rocky strata, the planning responds to the natural contours and textures of the land rather than altering them. Deeply rooted in context, the landscape acknowledges Jawai’s raw ecosystem and native wildlife. The presence of snakes, insects, and other animals across the site informed the planting strategy, leading to pathways edged with gravel and low-growing plantations instead of dense vegetation, allowing safer movement while maintaining visual openness within the landscape.
Curved pathways, layered decks, water edges, and native planting create a continuous dialogue between built spaces and the surrounding wilderness. The experience unfolds gradually through framed views, textured paving patterns, shaded pockets, and moments of pause embedded within the terrain. The project explores a balance between openness and intimacy, where luxury is expressed through restraint, materiality, and a strong connection to nature.
